History

1992~1999

The private enterprise Minh Phu, a supplier for export goods, was established with an initial charter capital of 120 million VND, with the business field being the purchase and processing of seafood supplied to domestic exporters.

It was renamed Minh Phu Seafood Processing Enterprise and increased its charter capital to 5 billion VND.

2000~2009

In December 2002, the decision was made to dissolve Minh Phu Seafood Processing Enterprise and establish Minh Phu Seafood Import and Export Company - Limited Liability with a charter capital of 90 billion VND.

It transitioned from a limited liability model to a joint-stock company model. On December 27, 2006, Minh Phu was officially listed at the Hanoi Stock Exchange with 60,000,000 shares at a face value of 10,000 VND per share.

In June 2008, Minh Phu contributed 20 million USD to Mseafood company, holding 90% of Mseafood’s charter capital. In July 2008, a subsidiary company was established, Minh Phu Bioproducts Manufacturing One Member Limited Liability Company, with a charter capital of 4.5 billion VND.

In August 2009, the construction of Minh Phu - Hau Giang seafood processing plant began, with a capacity of 40,000 tons of finished products per year and an investment capital of 50 million USD.

2010～2019

On June 23, 2010, the company changed its name to Minh Phu Seafood Corporation. Subsequently, it established two subsidiaries in succession, Minh Phu Ecological Shrimp Farming One Member Limited Liability Company with a charter capital of 20 billion VND, and Minh Phu - Loc An Aquaculture Limited Liability Company with a charter capital of 50 billion VND.

In 2013: Minh Phu Hau Giang raised capital through a third party from MPM Investments (subsidiary of Mitsui)

In 2017: Minh Phu participated in the establishment of Minh Phu Forest Shrimp Chain Social Joint Stock Company, Ca Mau with a charter capital of 18,000,000,000 VND with the purpose of linking households, agriculture and fisheries to sustainably farm shrimp, achieve international certification and protect forest environment. Also in this year, the company officially traded on the Upcom floor on October 16, 2017.

In 2018: The company established Minh Phu High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company with a charter capital of 100 billion VND, the main business field is processing, preserving seafood and products from seafood.

In 2019: The company increased its charter capital from 1,400 billion VND to 2,000 billion VND through the implementation of private placement for MPM Investments (a subsidiary of Mitsui). Also in this year, Minh Phu signed a contract with FPT Corporation to implement digital transformation.

2020～

In July 2020: Minh Phu Seafood Export Limited Liability Company was established, with a charter capital of 2 billion VND, owned 100% by the parent company, Minh Phu.
In October 2020: Otanics Technology Joint Stock Company was established, with a charter capital of 100 million VND, the parent company Minh Phu owns 51%.
In November 2020, Minh Phu Aquatic Larvae(Ninh Thuan) Limited Liability Company increased its charter capital from 88 billion to 138 billion. The parent company, Minh Phu, owns 99.67%.

In February 2021, Minh Phu Kien Giang Seafood Limited Liability Company increased its charter capital from 820 billion VND to 1,218.4 billion VND. The parent company, Minh Phu, increased its ownership ratio to 100%.
In April 2021, EBISUMO Logistics Limited Liability Company increased its charter capital from 2 billion VND to 20 billion VND, owned 100% by the parent company, Minh Phu.

In October 2021, the chain of Minh Phu Seafood Processing Plant projects was initiated in Khanh An Industrial Zone, Khanh An commune, U Minh district, including: Minh Phu Seafood Processing Plant, with a design capacity of 19 thousand tons/year, on a construction land area of over 29,800m2. Minh Phat Seafood Processing Plant, with a design capacity of 19 thousand tons/year, on a construction land area of over 29,800m2. Each project has a total investment capital of 500 billion VND. Centralized wastewater treatment plant, with a design capacity of 2,700 m3/day and night, on a construction land area of 2.73 ha, with a total investment capital of 50 billion VND.

In September 2022, the company issued additional shares at a ratio of 1:1, raising the total charter capital to 3,998.873 billion VND.

In November 2023, the principle of the social housing construction investment project in Khanh An commune, U Minh district was approved.

Advancing sustainable development, connecting corporate values with community benefits

Accompanying the sustainable development of Vietnam’s shrimp industry with SEAFOOD WATCH

The Seafood Watch program of the Monterey Bay Aquarium is a global initiative aimed at promoting sustainable aquaculture. In Vietnam, this program supports small shrimp farms to apply environmentally friendly methods, reduce negative impacts on the ecosystem, and improve product quality. Minh Phu, a pioneer in the shrimp industry, commits to support small shrimp farms in Vietnam to achieve the “Green” certification from Seafood Watch, a symbol for the priority choice in seafood shopping. This goal enhances production standards and builds trust in the supply chain. With more than 500 shrimp farms achieving Green certification in 2020 and the number increasing to over 2,000 farms in 2021, Minh Phu continues to expand its positive impact on the environment and the community

Collaboration with
Nha Trang University

On May 26, 2022, Minh Phu Seafood Corporation and Nha Trang University signed a cooperation agreement to train human resources in the seafood industry. Based on this cooperation, Minh Phu will support the training costs for 100 students each year in the fields of Aquaculture, Seafood Processing Technology, and Biotechnology (from 2024) for 5 consecutive years with a total sponsorship budget of 50 billion VND. The program guarantees 100% job opportunities for students after graduation and supports the cost of training the entire program. The goal of the cooperation is to contribute to improving the quality of training, meeting high-quality human resources in the seafood industry, contributing to promoting the development of the seafood industry in particular, and the marine economy in general.
